Chicago hosted the 10th Wheel Gymnastics Championships, July 8-14.  It’s a sport that is very competitive in Europe, but is little known in the USA.  This is the first time the world championships were held outside of Europe.  So for enthusiasts in the United States, this was a big deal!  Over 200 athletes from over 30 countries participated.

 

Enthusiasm is growing and some wheel gymnasts are getting into serious training in the sport.  If you never reached the level you wanted to in artistic gymnastics, maybe you should go for a whirl on a wheel and discover what all the excitement is about.
