Kerri Strug’s floor exercise from the 1993 U.S. Gymnastics Championships is what you’ll see on this video.  At that time completing dance moves were a bigger part of the scoring than they are today.  This floor exercise won her a third place position both in the event and in the All-Around.

 

 

Kerri was known for her persistence in gymnastics, in spite of injuries.     She would not give up.

Today’s floor exercises involve much more power tumbling moves than were included back in Kerri’s competitive days.
