First Ever Female Gymnast From India at Olympics Could Compete in Vault

India never had a female gymnast compete in the Olympics before.  But at the Rio Olympics Dipa Karmakar is not only there – but she could be a contender for a medal in vault.  Today’s Qualification rounds will reveal whether she makes the vault individual finals.

She has a hugely difficult vault called the Produnova.  No one else at the Olympics can perform this.  Watch her in this video.

UPDATE:  8/7/16   Dipa Karmakar qualified for the vault finals in the Rio Olympics gymnastics qualifying event yesterday.
