Since many colleges are now offering scholarships for those who are accomplished in gymnastics, there is a proliferation of videos on YouTube of high school gymnasts who want to show off for college recruiters.  Gone are the days of simply hoping a recruiter will show up at a competition and notice you!  Now the “in” thing is to have a video made of yourself doing your best gymnastics moves. Example:

 

 

I’m assuming that as gymnasts apply to colleges with gymnastics teams, they are providing a link to their videos to show off their gymnastics accomplishments.  They might email the links to coaches at various colleges as well.  It’s all about selling themselves as holding great potential for college sports recruiters.

Another way they can market themselves is to make a dvd of clips of their gymnastics abilities and send the dvds to the coaches and recruiters.
