One of our USA Olympians has won the All Around Title at the Winter Cup.  He edged out Adrian de los Angeles who came into the finals leading after the preliminaries.  No, it was not Danell Leyva –  He came in third place.  Watch this video of a pommel horse routine, and you’ll see the champ in action!

Great routine, right?  Yes, it’s Jake Dalton.  He and Danell will be competing in the American Cup at the beginning of March.  The two of them should make a powerhouse representation for the U.S. at that event which includes international gymnasts.

Now are you wondering who were added to the USA national team as a result of the Winter Cup?

USA Gymnastics reports:

Following the competition, de los Angeles, Paul Ruggeri of Manlius, N.Y./U.S. Gymnastics Development Center, Sean Melton of Orlando, Fla./U.S. Olympic Training Center, Akash Modi of Morganville, N.J./Monmouth, Brandon Wynn of Columbus, Ohio/Ohio State University, Glen Ishino of Santa Ana, Calif./University of California – Berkeley, and Penev were named to the U.S. national team, along with all eight members of the 2012 U.S. Olympic team.

Don’t wait, get in shape with weights.
