Just as there has been an emphasis in education to have classrooms be more inclusive of and helpful to individuals with disabilities, there is also a movement in many gymnastics centers to include those with disabilities in their classes.
Even if a person does not have the potential to become a high level gymnast, he or she can still be challenged to develop skills and to become more physically fit. There is value for everyone, no matter what their ability levels, to push themselves and practice to become able to go beyond current limitations and to become better at skills.
In this video, teachers at an inclusive gym discuss the value of providing the opportunity for those with disabilities to learn gymnastics skills. Seeing anyone develop beyond the level where he or she started is reward enough for instructors.
