Gabriella Douglas, a gymnast from Canada, does not have a lot in common with the world famous Gabrielle Douglas who won the All-Around in Olympic gymnastics a year ago.  Gabriella has not reached the performance levels of Gabrielle.  But she has been improving and is rising through the ranks of Canadian female gymnasts.

 

This weekend Gabriella is competing in the 2013 Pan American Gymnastics Championships began in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Gabrielle, or Gabby, as she is better known, is not competing there nor in the upcoming U.S. Championships.   Gabriella, whose nickname is Ella, may turn up on the international gymnastics scene sometime in the future with Gabby.  Hopefully they will be called by their nicknames so that we know who the announcers are talking about!
