At the 1976 Olympics, Nellie Kim was the first woman gymnast to earn a perfect 10 in Vault and Floor Exercise. This video shows her famous vault, which she performed in the All Around competition. It was a the Tsukahara vault with a full twist. She was on the USSR team in both the ’76 and ’80 Olympics.
Nellie’s main rival was Nadia Comăneci. They battled it out in every competition, which made for very interesting watching for the spectators!
