Phoebe Mills’ big year in gymnastics was 1988. She won every meet and placed first at the Olympic Trials. At the Olympics, she was the only USA gymnast to win a medal, getting the bronze for her balance beam performance. In 1989 her body began to mature, making gymnastics more difficult for her. Here is one of her 1989 performances.
Before the end of the year, she decided to retire from gymnastics. Fans were sad to see her leave the sport. Now she is a lawyer.
