Doing a side aerial on the balance beam is very difficult and is not normally seen in college gymnastics. However, Danusia Francis, a British gymnast who is on the UCLA women’s gymnastics team, performed one at the recent NCAA Championships. In these videos, in which the UCLA team shows off their beam skills, you’ll see Danusia at the end of each video. She’s the one with the bright blond hair.
That was a pretty cool move she made on the beam! Watch her in the second video.
Since she is just a freshman, Danusia has three more years to perfect her beam performances for the benefit of UCLA.
