This video shows how some families really go all out to give their child an edge in gymnastics.  This child has a bar, a beam, and mats at home so that she can practice.  That must have been a substantial financial investment!   It looks like she’s pretty serious about her gymnastics and enjoys it too.

The only difficulty I see with this is that if she practices over and over incorrectly without a teacher, she could develop bad habits.  But if she has enough training to practice correctly, getting extra practice at home could be an asset
